Chapter 3. Estimating and Time Tracking

Every Agile team is different from each other and every team has its own way of working. Every team has its boundaries, capabilities, and smells. A team also evolves and adopts over a period of time to work together to deliver maximum value. Agile-based concepts are also built with the same mindset. We first need to know the team capabilities and rhythm over a period of time to fully understand the delivered value. In Scrum we call it the velocity of the team to deliver value in a Sprint. Based on the velocity of the team, we do the capacity planning as to how much a team can deliver in a Sprint and accordingly, plan the product and Sprint backlog.
