Gearing up for implementation


It is always recommended to kick-start gamification efforts in an enterprise with an incremental approach (pilot implementation) as opposed to big bang adoption (full-blown implementation).

There are varied reasons as to why a pilot implementation for gamification is recommended. Here's a list of a critical few:

  • Gamification involves change management: Gamification initiatives involve huge change management and there could be some resistance within an enterprise setup towards adoption. For instance, if the organization is typically hierarchy-driven, a social feature introduced by the gamification system might confuse the employees as it might be in direct conflict with their standard communication protocols. In this case, lack of clarity leads to lesser adoption. There could be very many reasons why the user is not embracing the change.
