The ethical client


The type of client that is good to work with; the type who we would all like our clients to be. If a client can't be classed as ethical, then there has to be serious consideration as to whether it's worth providing services to them.

Characteristics

Ethical client tend to be:

  • Keen to identify a deal that is fair to both parties: Ethical people understand that a fair deal leads to a win for everyone, meaning that they get the solution and quality of service required because you have the funds to make it happen. They also look at the scope for establishing a working relationship for future projects, understanding that a good relationship with people they can trust leads to receiving solutions faster with minimal problems.

  • Generous in what they offer: Ethical clients often know what the market rate for your services is and will offer this as a minimum, while potentially suggesting bonuses as an extra motivation when their work is required at short notice or requires you to work...
