Configuring customer accounts in Dynamics AX


In order for the user to be able to access the self-service portals within the Enterprise portal, they need to be registered in Dynamics AX as a valid user with the correct roles and profiles.

In this recipe, we will show you how to create an external user account within Dynamics AX.

How to do it...

To configure a new customer account in Dynamics AX, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Users menu item from the Users folder of the Common group within the System administration area page.

  2. You can create the user the hard way or the easy way. The easy way is to create the user account from Active Directory by clicking on the Import button within the New group of the Users ribbon bar.

  3. When the Active Directory Import Wizard starts up, click on the Next button.

  4. Select your domain from the Domain name: drop-down box, and then select a search filter for the criteria fields. Click on Next.

  5. This should show you a list of all the user accounts within Active Directory...
