Are you distracted by pesky introvert myths?


Earlier, we learned about the meaning of self-confidence, and interpreted it as the faith we have in ourselves. We continued with further confidence from three other selves:

  • Self-efficacy: A positive belief we have in our capabilities

  • Self-esteem: The image we have of our worth

  • Self-image: How we see ourselves

Unless we are aware of the truth about who we are, including what our strengths and weaknesses are, myths can keep us stuck regardless of which self-word we may identify distorting our thoughts. Low self-confidence can prevent us from taking action, action necessary for our essential communication skills to be effective. If you can identify with low self-confidence, it may be time to examine a possible central problem.

Because so much credence is given to what others project to us about how they see us, often based on some unproven collective belief, we can often confuse the projection with the truth.
