Pillar 1 – understanding the objective of the presentation


Why am I doing what I am doing? Why am I delivering this training to this group of IT personnel? What is the audience going to get out of this presentation?

These are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself before jumping onto slide preparation. The answers to similar questions will unravel the path to content preparation and subsequent presentation delivery. You may not always have the answers to these questions, but make sure you get answers from people who are cognizant of the underlying objective.

The entire exercise of coming up with such questions and seeking answers to them is aimed at understanding the objective. Everything we do, in IT and outside, circles around our motives and the objectives we want to achieve.
