What's an icebreaker?

An icebreaker is a game, exercise, or activity that welcomes the group. It comes from the nautical term, icebreaker, being a ship that is capable of navigating through tough patches of ice. The "icebreaker" allows participants to relax and become comfortable with each other.

There are lots of different kinds of icebreakers. In fact, there are whole books devoted to icebreaker activities. But let me share with you a classic icebreaker that works in almost any environment.
