Strategic planning meetings are some of the most important meetings that take place in the organization. It's possible we could say this meeting sets the stage for all the other meetings we're talking about. Ultimately, status meetings help us achieve our operational goals (which help us accomplish our strategic plan). Training meetings help us carry out our goals (which helps us achieve our strategic plan). And so forth.

In our next chapter, we're going to talk about project meetings. We're going to discuss how this meeting should be different from the regular status meeting and examine some project management tools to help the meeting be successful.
