Working with perspectives


A perspective is a way of drawing objects in 3D, and Lumion uses the 3-point perspective. We can however apply an effect to get a 2-point perspective, where we use two vanishing points to create an image or a clip ensuring that the vertical lines remain vertical no matter what the camera angle is. This can be used to create technical and conceptual illustrations, and this recipe is going to teach us how we can use one effect in Lumion to achieve the same result.

Getting ready

The effect we are going to use in this recipe can be applied to both images and clips, but for this recipe, we will apply the effect to a clip.

How to do it…

To work with the 2-Point Perspective effect, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a clip in the Movie mode.

  2. Using the New effect button, open the Movie effect library.

  3. Go to the Camera tab and locate the 2-Point Perspective effect. Select it to add this effect to your clip. The following screenshot shows you an example of a clip without the effect...
