Introduction

The landscape, where a building is implanted, makes all the difference in any project. It's true that in most cases, the terrain is dug and molded to accommodate the future building; in some circumstances, the architect wants to take benefit of specific characteristics of the terrain. A good example is the Kaufmann Residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935, also known as the Fallingwater, and this was designed in a way that it blends with the environment.

Lumion provides tools that are essential to mold and shape the terrain in the best and simplest way possible. In this chapter, we are going to use these tools and see how we can sculpt the terrain and change the landscape characteristics; then, we'll go a little bit further and use some advanced tools, such as heightmaps, to create the terrain in seconds in Lumion.
