Step 5 – Inserting extra entourage


More and more 3D content is now being produced or converted into the .skp format. So, you might already have downloaded and inserted everything you need for your scene directly in SketchUp. However, sometimes, you want to insert your 3D entourage models only into the rendering application and not into SketchUp, especially if you are dealing with high-poly models.

The Thea Browser provides a feature that allows you to add high-poly 3D content from your Thea library into a SketchUp scene without using up resources. To follow these steps, you need some 3D objects installed in your Thea library. You can get some free sample content from http://www.thearender.com/cms/index.php/resources/free-samples.html.

  1. Open the Thea Browser by navigating to Thea Render | Thea Browser.

  2. A file browser will open in the Thea data folder. Navigate to Thea folders | Models | Free Samples | Sample Xfrog Library (or another location with your 3D library files). You can see the open...
