Monitoring tools


Monitoring integration platforms can be a large challenge given their black box like nature. As a result, BizTalk support teams typically need to be composed of specialists, as a deep understanding of the product is required to be able to troubleshoot problems. A large degree of trust also needs to be provided to support teams due to the lack of granular access rights while accessing the BizTalk Administration Console.

While these problems can be circumvented in relatively smaller organizations by having one or two dedicated BizTalk support specialists on board, such a solution doesn't scale well for a large SOA. This would typically require a larger team to deal with the increased surface area of the BizTalk environment and a high level of proactive support to ensure the health of the environment.
