Summary


In this chapter, we learned the entirely new concept of version control. For most experienced consultants and developers who have strong C# and other programming experience, this concept might not be that new. But those who have always worked with an NAV system might perceive this as a new one. We learned the most basic ways to harvest some of the functionality of version control in dynamics NAV. For some, it might look like a lengthy process to implement, but once you understand the core concept, you will love it and implement it in team projects in particular. We also understood the pattern to use while branching and how it can be of great importance.

In the next chapter, we will discuss the tune-up process of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. When a project gets implemented with unorganized patterns and without any proper planning, it can be unacceptable to clients in terms of time and memory.
