Summary

In this chapter, we have seen how to handle a new integration business case between NAV and mobile clients, where the clients are using Universal Windows applications for managing tasks. You have learned how you can create a REST service layer between NAV and the external client's applications by using ASP.NET Web API 2 and how you can develop a UWP application for the clients.

Regarding the UWP, you have learned also how to handle tasks such as transmitting the location or accessing private data from a fitness device.

After reading this chapter, you should have a complete understanding of how to create a real-world architecture that permits you to expose your NAV business logic to the outside world for handling complex scenarios.

In the next chapter, we'll explore the Microsoft Azure services to discover how you can leverage the power of the cloud to enhance your NAV architecture.
