Managing Office 365 users


Most of the work you'll do with Office 365 users will be in the Users | Active users section. There are other sections under Users: Contacts, Deleted users, and Guest users. But we'll skip those for now. They will be covered later, in other sections.

Here's what the Active users page looks like:

Across the top of the page, we have the Add a user button, the More button, a drop-down that lets you choose from one of several out-of-the-box or custom views, and the user search box:

  • The Add a user button is the primary way to onboard users. We'll talk about that process in more detail in just a bit.
  • The More button lets you import bulk users. This is also where you would go to configure two-factor authentication or directory synchronization (Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) or AD Connect). It also lets you reset passwords and delete users, both of which you can do from the user details page. There's a handy refresh feature too, in case you're working...
