Creating and scheduling database backups

The database is the primary location for all the data required to keep the site functional. We can back up the database manually or automate the process by scheduling regular backups.

We can use a tool such as phpMyAdmin to manually back up the database as a file. However, most sites use existing plugins or build a custom process to back up the database, scheduling and keeping track of backups generated in different time frames.
