Adding ratings to blog posts

Blog posts in WordPress sites can be of different content types such as articles, tutorials, and news. Measuring the usage and importance of each of the posts is important for identifying the usefulness of a post. Analytics is one way of measuring the success of a post. Ratings and reviews are another way of identifying the usefulness of the content for readers. Many sites add a rating section at the end of the post for capturing numeric ratings, based on a scale of 5 or 10. Users visiting the post can use the average rating as an indication of the quality of the post content.

In this recipe, we are going to add a star rating component to posts through a free plugin and display the rating details alongside the rating component.
