Summary


Now, what we have covered in this chapter is by no means an in-depth look at the subject of camera setup and composition. We have nevertheless managed to cover a number of extremely important aspects of the topic.

Firstly, we identified a number of standard shot types that we can make use of such as wide, medium, and close up. We also considered the impact of our output aspect ratio setting for composition and highlighted some of the more commonly used ones. Closely tied to the aspect ratio setting is the pixel resolution at which our final renders will be made. Here, we settled on a full HD, 16:9 ratio output of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

We also demonstrated the impact that our choice of focal length setting will have on composition, noting that this will most likely vary greatly from shot to shot on a project, even when we are rendering inside the same space.
