As Christine and I left Graham’s office she took me by the elbow, dragged me into a nearby meeting room and half-slammed the door.
“When were you going to tell me about the work that you’ve got Barry doing?”
“What’s the problem?”
“If you’d told me what was going on we could have avoided Barry getting it wrong. We had already sorted out the basic template in the investment planning work that I led before. So on the one hand, I’m telling Graham about that and on the other you’ve got Barry doing what amounts to the same thing but making basic errors for all the world to see.”
