Animation is just a succession of different images that produces an illusion of movement. Therefore, to create interesting animations, we need to familiarize ourselves with the various ways in which we can set shapes, sprites, and more complex structures in motion, as well as with motion as a medium per se.
Different kinds of motion evoke different emotional and cognitive responses. That is to say that motion has its own significance, which has to be carefully considered as a fundamental quality of a work, be it of artistic, scientific, or of any other nature. In a computer graphics context, we can distinguish between three basic types of motion:
Uniform motion: In this type of motion, the direction and the speed of the moving object(s) are kept unchanged
Accelerated motion: In this type of motion, the direction and the speed of the moving object(s) are dependent on various forces
