By the end of this chapter, we really starting to build some basic yet powerful stuff. With just presence, simple instant messaging, chat state, and a whole fleet of bots, we can already build quite powerful real time (and lets not forget federated) applications!
In this chapter, we learned about XMPP connection methods from the browser, we were introduced to and played with XMPP-FTW, we built a simple HTTP and WebSocket server to talk via the browser, and we built a browser-based client to chat with our instant answers bot from Chapter 2, Diving into the Core XMPP Concepts.
In the next chapter, we will build a Multi-User Chat (MUC) application with our newly gained knowledge of XMPP-FTW.
