JIRA with Bitbucket and GitHub


JIRA comes with a built-in functionality to connect with the Bitbucket and GitHub repositories. Perform these steps to integrate JIRA into Bitbucket and GitHub:

  1. Navigate to Administration | Applications | DVCS Accounts (under INTEGRATIONS).

  2. On the next screen, click on the Link Bitbucket Cloud or GitHub account button:

  3. In the popup that appears, select either Bitbucket Cloud or GitHub from the Host drop-down list, enter your username in the Team or User Account text field, and enter the relevant values in OAuth Key and OAuth Secret, both of which you can generate from your Bitbucket or GitHub account. Click on the Add button to continue:

  4. On the Confirm access to your account screen, click on the Grant access button:

  5. After the configuration is complete, the JIRA instance will list the available repositories:
