Work with syslog data

Log Analytics supports the collection of syslog data. This is the OMS agent for Linux that collects and sends syslog messages to the Log Analytics service.

How to do it...

Once you have met the prerequisites for connecting Linux systems to Log Analytics, and after you install the OMS agent for Linux and onboard your systems to your Log Analytics workspace, you are ready to start collecting syslog data.

To configure syslog data collection from connected Linux systems in your Log Analytics workspace, perform the following steps:
