Now that you know how to create and run your sandboxes, the only question is which version you want to use; making this decision may be quite complex. The basics for making a viable decision on that topic will be summarized in this section.

Officially, publicly released versions are always available on the registry (mcr.microsoft.com) with the following repositories and image names:

  • mcr.microsoft.com/businesscentral/sandbox: The sandbox image of the SaaS version of Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • mcr.microsoft.com/businesscentral/onprem: The on-premise version of Dynamics 365 Business Central
