Bringing Slackbot to your threads

Threads are like run-off thoughts. They’re conversations within a conversation that allow a seamless string of messages on the same topic to be located in a singular place. Threads can become hidden within your channel and that’s why it’s important to make sure Slackbot knows how to respond to messages and retrieve the data found in threads as well.

Rather than redirecting common questions to general channels, make sure crucial information is integrated into your threads so that it’s easy to find and accessible to members working in that space. For example, if you know your team is going to need access to something such as the WiFi password within that thread, ask Slackbot and then pin the message to the channel so that every member can view it, no matter when they join the thread.
