Storage bin

Storage bin is a location where the goods are stored in the warehouse. It is the smallest available space unit in the warehouse where the goods are stored. The storage type can have multiple storage bins, and a storage bin is assigned to a warehouse and storage type based on its location.

The following screenshot shows the storage bin master data:

You can define additional characteristics in the storage bin master, such as Storage Section, Picking Area, Stor. bin type, Maximum Weight, Total capacity, and much more, as shown in the preceding screenshot. You can create storage bins from the SAP menu at SAP Menu | Logistics | Logistics Execution | Master Data | Warehouse | Storage Bin | LS01N – Manually.

In the warehouse management system, you can create storage bins automatically. For this to happen, you need to define the parameters in the storage bin structures.
