How to duplicate and import templates

In this section, you will learn how to import templates from the native Notion list and duplicate templates from other creators into your workspace. This can help give you a start on a use case for your workspace, or it could give you a solution to a problem you are having.

Templates can be a great place to start from, but understanding how the template works is far more useful, as it allows you to adjust and change the features, functionality, and limitations the template may have.

The term "template" in Notion can mean lots of things, but alone, template refers to a set of pages, blocks, and databases that can be duplicated into another workspace. A template block is a special type of block that allows you to duplicate pages, blocks, and databases inside a current page, such as a duplication button, which will be covered in Chapter 4, All the Building Blocks.
