System views are views that the application uses in special circumstances. Each entity has its own set of these views, which are created automatically for custom entities.
These views have specific purposes and some additional capabilities:
- Quick Find: The view used when searches are performed using Search this view in the user interface of an app. This view defines which fields are searched in lookup fields and in the categorized search.
- Advanced Find: The default view for Advanced Find.
- Associated: The view that is used when a user clicks on Related in a form and selects the entity.
- Lookup: The view used when a user clicks on the search icon in a lookup field. It also defines which fields appear in the form when you click into a lookup field.
These four views do not appear in the list of system views when a user selects an entity from the app site map navigation.
System views cannot be deleted or deactivated. You cannot create new system views.
