Chapter 10. Finishing Touches

In the last chapter we wrote a four page script, set up our file, and then penciled and inked our four pages. Now it's time to address putting the finishing touches on our comic. For some projects, you might be done after the penciling or inking stage. For others, you may need to add tone or color, or both! So in this chapter we're going to learn the following:

  • Using screentones

  • Setting up layers for coloring

  • Setting reference layers for the fill tool

  • Making a custom brush to do soft shading

  • Blending mode use for the gradient tool

We'll be learning most of that through a comic coloring method that I've been teaching myself for the past few years. I think it's easy enough for anyone to do and get some great results with. So let's finish up our Steven Strange comic!
