How Do I Protect Against Data Breaches and Loss?

An organization’s data is often its most important asset. If data is lost, compromised, or stolen, the effects on the business can be devastating. You need to have systems in place to protect data from unauthorized access, whether that data is at rest, in use, or in motion.

Data at rest is data that is physically stored on disks, tapes, solid-state drives, and other storage media. There are two vulnerabilities here: The data can be accessed, deleted, or modified by someone who doesn’t have proper access rights, or the data may be copied to removable media. The way to address these vulnerabilities is through encryption of data at rest.
