Introducing the IBM Cloud Garage Method

The IBM Cloud Garage Method is our approach that enables business, development, and operations to work together to continuously design, deliver, and validate new functions. The practices and corresponding tool chains cover the entire product life cycle, from inception through capturing and responding to customer feedback and market changes. We divide our practices into six areas, as shown in Figure 8-1.

Culture

You may be surprised to find that the first of the pieces of the IBM Cloud Garage Method, the center of our approach, is culture. We consider cultural transformation to be so important that we covered the key aspects of it in Chapter 4. We believe that to be successful with the Cloud, you must transform your organization by combining business, technology, and process innovations to create teams that learn quickly from market experiences.
