Wrapping Up the Workshop

One place where the IBM Cloud Garage approach differs from other Agile methods and from the basic outlines of IBM Design Thinking is that at this point, you are ready to consider some key architectural issues. We have found that following up a Design Thinking session with a quick (half-day) architectural discussion allows the business and technical teams to come into closer alignment on the best approach for implementing the MVP. This discussion also helps define some additional key information that the team needs to begin implementing the application at the inception phase.

We should note that the role of the designer does not end with a Design Thinking workshop but continues throughout the lifetime of product development. At this point, different skills can begin to come into play. The design team should have the input it needs to start designing the user experience.
