In the previous chapters, we studied various command line examples to manage the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization infrastructure. Now it's time to go through various troubleshooting techniques by referring to the various logs of the RHEV manager, hypervisor hosts, guest tool logs, and client-level logs to troubleshoot the SPICE connection of virtual machine consoles. We'll also look at the log collector utility and the steps to be performed to bring the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization infrastructure to the maintenance state during the time of planned outage. In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
RHEV-M logs
RHEV Hypervisor logs
Guest agent and SPICE logs
The log collector utility
Maintaining an RHEV environment
