In this recipe, we will explore how RDS application streaming works from a Horizon View Client perspective. Unlike desktop pools, whose names are often created arbitrarily by the Horizon View administrator, RDS applications appear much as they would in a Windows Explorer window.
As mentioned in the introduction to this chapter, in order to access RDS-streamed applications, we must use either the software-based Horizon View Client or a thin or zero client that supports either the PCoIP or RDP protocol. The HTML client is not yet supported with Windows RDS hosts. In this recipe, we are using the standard Windows-based client.
