Upgrading the Horizon View desktop OS using Mirage

This recipe will discuss the steps that are required to upgrade a desktop OS using Mirage.

Note

While the procedure used to upgrade a Windows desktop OS using Mirage might seem simple compared to traditional automated methods using tools, such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), it does not mean that it doesn't require extensive testing prior to attempting large-scale upgrades. Even though desktop data is protected by Mirage and the endpoint can be restored to the previous OS version and state if needed, you need to make sure that you limit the number of upgrades you perform at first, and ensure that those that you do upgrade are thoroughly tested to ensure that they function as required.
