Real-world use of asset intelligence

Asset intelligence is another feature in the stack of inventory and software data that is largely unused. The feature comes from a vast online catalog of software identifiers, which synchronizes with your site via the asset intelligence sync point.

Not only does this functionality provide you with a huge list of software families and categories, which categorizes software titles in the asset intelligence reports, but also gives you a list of hardware requirements for over 100 applications. You can run reports of your hierarchy against these software titles to see which clients cannot run a certain application.

This information then becomes very useful when we are deploying a new operating system or a new application into our environment. It is a good validation step that can be used before deploying the software to give you a better idea of what will work and what will not work.
