Chapter 5. Administration and Monitoring

This chapter lets you take a look at the different administration techniques in System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2. It explains how to plan and design your Configuration Manager infrastructure in terms of sites and site planning, the different types of sites, and how to combine them. Then, it covers the role-based administration capabilities of System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2; it also covers how to define different user roles and how to assign users to these roles so that you have restricted access to your Configuration Manager infrastructure. What follows next is alerting and how to configure and subscribe to alerts. This means that you can define your custom alerts so that you are notified of the occurrence of some events in the infrastructure.
