Maintaining user sessions

Setting up a session is the most time-consuming task Citrix and Windows have to perform when a user requests an application. It's therefore important to keep an established user session even if a connectivity loss occurs. Users must be able to reconnect to your Citrix infrastructure and find all the applications still running.

Moreover, mobile users require the ability to roam quickly between devices. For example, consider a user working on a document using his tablet on the train while going to the office and, once there, wishing to continue his work on his personal computer.

Use the features explored in the following sections to optimize the reliability of sessions.

Session Reliability

Session Reliability keeps sessions active on the user's screen during connectivity interruptions. Without Session Reliability, the session will be disconnected, applications will disappear from the user's device, and the user will have to reconnect to the infrastructure.
