Chapter 4. Getting Started with VSAN – Installation and Configuration

In the previous chapter, we discussed the types of workloads and considerations to be made while choosing the right platform for VSAN that meets your business needs. In this chapter, we will deploy a simple setup that will demonstrate the workflow of a typical VSAN deployment.

This chapter aims at:

  • Getting a look and feel for the form factors/hardware components
  • Familiarizing yourself with the installation and configuration of a VSAN setup
  • Providing hands-on experience and getting started with using the product

The finer details of configuration and design considerations will be discussed in the later chapters.
