When you log in to the vCloud Air dashboard, you can select any of your existing virtual datacenters and view the details about its default gateway and networks. But what are these gateways and networks, and how are they useful to us?
When you subscribe to a Virtual Private Cloud service, VMware creates your virtual datacenter for you and adds a default gateway to that virtual datacenter. When you subscribe to a Dedicated Cloud service, then you, as an end user, have to log in to the vCloud Air dashboard and create your first virtual datacenter. When you allocate a public IP address to your virtual datacenter, vCloud Air automatically creates a gateway in that virtual datacenter.
