Printing policies


Over the years, printing in Citrix gave nightmares to the Citrix administrator, but at the same time, Citrix never gave up and continued their effort to provide the better user experience when it came to printing.

With the release of Citrix XenApp 7.6, it also released the new version of Citrix Universal Print Server 7.6 and after regressive testing, the Citrix experts found that:

  • Citrix UPS is able to take 50 print jobs per minute.

  • It showed better efficiency and recovery during the high load.

  • It has got better performance when it comes to WAN printing. Users were able to interact with the print dialog box six times faster.

As you are aware, printing put a high load on the network bandwidth and with the help of, the HDX protocol did some compression between Universal Print Server and client that helped in the WAN performance.
