Introduction to ServiceNow

Exporting data


In the ServiceNow platform, there are multiple options available for administrators and users to export data in various formats. The following options are available to export data:

  • Form export
  • List export
  • Direct URL access

Form export

The form export feature works only on any form that the user has access to. We can export data of a form using the Export option available in the form header, as shown in the following screenshot:

The export option can be used to export the data of the form comprising of the fields in the table in the following formats:

  • PDF (Portrait/Landscape): When exporting the data of a form in a PDF format, only the fields that are displayed in the view are visible in the form; however, it includes fields that might be hidden using the UI policy. A PDF can be exported in either a portrait or landscape format.
  • XML (This Record): When exporting form data in an XML format, all fields, irrespective of the view, are available.

List export

The data in any list of a record...
