It is quite common to use cloud storage to hold your data from the iCloud provided by Apple, Google Drive provided by Google, OneDrive provided by Microsoft, or Dropbox provided by Dropbox, Inc. The consumer versions of cloud storage allow you to have limited storage space, but offer to sell you a business version or additional storage by charging a monthly subscription fee. In this diagram, you can see on the left-hand side a data center that has a vast amount of storage servers in a configuration called a server farm. The data center is a secure location where your data resides, but the data must stay within your world region. The data center has a backup data center to provide redundancy. The storage on these servers is likely to be diskless SAN storage.
