An Overview of the Horizon Just-in-Time Management Platform

Horizon JMP combines features of Horizon, vSphere, User Environment Manager, App Volumes, and Workspace ONE to create an on-demand personalized desktop, without the need to use persistent desktops or multiple administration consoles to provision it all.

The following components work together to create a just-in-time personalized desktop:

  • User Environment Manager: Stores user-specific desktop and application settings, persisting them across multiple devices, versions of Windows, and application instances.
  • User file share: A file share that stores user data that is redirected from specific folders inside the VM. Redirecting folders reduces the need to copy files back and forth when a Horizon client starts or ends their session.
