Setting a firewall rule schedule
This recipe describes how to create a schedule. Schedules allow us to control when firewall rules are enabled. They are primarily used with firewall rules, but their generic design allows them to be used with many present and future pfSense features. If a firewall rule specifies a schedule, the rule will only be enabled during those hours. In this example, we will create a schedule so that the rule we created in the previous section will only be enabled during work hours (9 AM-5 PM).
Note
When creating and using schedules, it is important to have your NTP time sync settings properly configured, and to synchronize with a reliable server. Also take into account time-zone differences and daylight savings time, when applicable.
