Summary

In this chapter, we introduced the CAF for Azure, without getting too technical or Azure specific. That is because the challenges are predominately cultural, meaning people and processes are hard to organize and harder still to change. The CAF provides a comprehensive set of adoption tools and resources to help you make your cloud journey successful. It offers, for example, readiness assessment tools, Azure setup guides, and planning templates. The framework helps you map your existing infrastructure and software to the cloud and enables you to identify any gaps between your current state and desired cloud target state. The CAF is the perfect starting point to embark on your adoption journey and make it successful. The next chapter, on migration, will focus more on the tools and technologies that will be used to move existing assets from an existing data center environment to the cloud.
