You've heard about the benefits of the cloud and you want to get on board, but you’re not sure where to start, what services to use, or how to make sure your data is safe. Making the decision to move to the cloud can be daunting and it's easy to get overwhelmed, but if you're not careful, you can easily make mistakes that cost you time and money. Azure Cloud Adoption Framework Handbook is here to help. This guide will take you step-by-step through the process of making the switch to the Microsoft Azure cloud. Migrating Workloads

In Chapter 3, we described how to assess your digital estate during the planning phase and decide on the target state for each workload on the cloud. In this chapter, we will walk through the migration journey for workloads that will be rehosted or refactored (modernized). If your organization has not identified or does not require any migration, then you can probably skip this chapter for now, though the final section on Azure DevOps might be interesting.

In this chapter, we’re going to cover the following main topics:

  • Migration scenarios
  • Migration tools
  • Networking
  • Virtual machines
  • Containerization
  • Azure DevOps
