There are key roles for SLM, including the process owner, process manager, and process practitioner. As was discussed in Chapter 5, there are common responsibilities for every process owner and process manager. The SLM process owner is accountable for ensuring the process meets the needs of the business. The role must be the sponsor for the process, providing design guidance, ensuring changes to the process are managed, and identifying and implementing any improvements implemented appropriately. The process owner will ensure accurate documentation is maintained on the process and define how the process will be measured for compliance and performance.
