This chapter has covered the options for migrating from IBM iSeries and AIX systems. What these systems have in common is that they both run on the IBM POWER platform. However, as you can see, for midrange systems, there are a few very different approaches to migration. You will need to consider what your end state looks like and drive toward that with the options presented here. In this book, we have mostly focused on the technical aspects of migration. As mentioned earlier, licensing also needs to be considered.

We’ve now looked at midrange systems. Next, we will look at enterprise UNIX systems.
