The intent of Chapters 5 and 6 was to provide a brief overview of the Azure platform and also show how you can use its features and services to put together a reliable and highly available deployment for a legacy workload. Hopefully, this has provided you with a better understanding of the Azure platform and how you can take your mission-critical workloads and deploy them in an Enterprise-class way.

The next step in understanding how to migrate legacy workloads into the Azure platform is to understand the differences between a monolithic architecture and a distributed architecture. This is what we will explore in Chapter 7.
